CORRIGENDUM

Sequence analysis of the lactococcal bacteriophage bIL170: insights into structural proteins and HNH endonucleases in dairy phages, by A.-M. Crutz-Le Coq, B. Cesselin, J. Commissaire and J. Anba

Microbiology vol. 148, part 4, pp. 985 - 1001

In RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, Modular structural proteins, A multi-component system potentially involved in host-range determination in dairy phages, paragraph 2, the last part of the following sentence (page 998, column 2, line 30, of the printed version of the paper) is incorrect:

"gpl12 is dispensable for infection of the laboratory host strain, since no homologue was found in the closely related phage sk1, nor possibly in F4-1 (for which only partial genome sequence is available), and since its deletion did not impair phage bIL170 propagation (A.-M. Cruz-LeCoq, unpublished results)."

The sentence should read as follows:

"gpl12 is dispensable for infection of the laboratory host strain, since no l12 homologue was found in the closely related phage sk1, nor possibly in F4-1 (for which only partial genome sequence is available), and since its deletion did not impair phage bIL41 propagation (A.-M. Cruz-LeCoq, unpublished results)."
